Partner firms and institutions

Another specific aspect of the training provided by the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs is the role partnerships play in the learning process.

The school has set up three types of partnership:

  • with higher education establishments in France and other countries, including the Institut des Sciences Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po), the Centre de Formation des Journalistes (CFJ), the École Normale Supérieure (ENS), the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-arts (ENSBA), etc.
  • with cultural institutions such as the BnF, the CENTQUATRE, la Ferme du Buisson, Centre Pompidou, etc.
  • with industry, through French and foreign firms such as Tarkett, International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF), Ikea, Cacharel, Badoit, etc.

These partnerships gives rise to specific projects conducted by students at the school (internships, workshops, exhibitions, research programmes).

25% of the school’s partnerships are international, reflecting the school’s concern to offer students the broadest possible range of fields of work and experimentation. The school has worked, for example, with the renowned Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on a workshop on “Hybrid Materials”, and with the Instituto Veneto Di Science, Lettere Ed Arti on the organisation of an exhibition entitled “From the object to the city” as part of the 2010 Venice Architecture Biennale.
